    SalesLeads announced today the CY 2024 results for the new planned capital project spending report for the Distribution and Supply Chain industry. The Firm tracks planned industrial capital projects in North America, covering facility expansions, new plant construction, and significant equipment upgrades. Research confirms 2,322 new projects in the Industrial Manufacturing sector identified in 2024.

    Planned industrial project activity within the sector increased by 3% from the previous year.

    Research shows that Mainei state had the highest increase of Distribution and Industrial Warehouse projects tracked, with 50% more projects identified than in 2023. Conversely, Oregon state showed the largest decline of projects tracked, with a 133% decline compared to 2023. 

    Most Active Month

    Research shows that the most active month was June, where 246 new Distribution and Supply Chain project opportunities were identified.

    Largest Month to Month Increase in Projects Tracked

    Research shows that there was a 24% increase in new projects tracked from May 2024 to June 2024. Conversely, Jun-Jul showed the largest month to month decline; with 246 new projects in June and 177 in July.

    The largest project is owned by Pathways Alliance, who is investing $17 billion for the construction of a carbon capture and storage facility in WOOD BUFFALO, AB. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

    MARCH

    Pharmaceutical company is planning to invest $562 million for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a 427,000 sf processing, laboratory, warehouse, and office facility at 1000 New Horizons Way in VACAVILLE, CA.

    APRIL

    Plastic recycling service provider is planning to invest $950 million for the construction of a 2.5 million sf processing and warehouse facility in THOMASTON, GA. Construction is expected to start in 2025, with completion slated for 2027.

    MAY

    Specialty food processing company is planning to invest $800 million for the construction of a processing, warehouse, and office facility in JEFFERSON, WI. The project includes the expansion and equipment upgrades of their existing plant in WALWORTH, WI.

    JUNE

    Department store chain is planning to invest $450 million for the construction of a 1.7 million sf distribution center in RANDLEMAN, NC.

    JULY

    Industrial wire and cable mfr. is planning to invest $681 million for the construction of a 750,000 sf manufacturing and warehouse facility at 1213 Victory Blvd. in CHESAPEAKE, VA. Construction is expected to start in early 2025, with completion slated for early 2028.

    AUGUST

    Food processing company is planning to invest $750 million for the construction of a 700,000 sf processing and warehouse facility in SIOUX FALLS, SD.

    SEPTEMBER

    Supply chain service provider is planning to invest $200 million for the expansion of their warehouse and distribution center in YORK, PA by 705,000 sf.

    OCTOBER

    Battery component mfr. is investing $871 million for the construction of a manufacturing and warehouse complex at 400 Rocky Rd. in REGISTER, GA. Construction has recently started, with completion slated for 2027.

    NOVEMBER

    Specialty cold storage and transportation service provider is planning to invest $1.5 billion for the construction of a cold storage and warehouse complex at Wilmington International Airport in WILMINGTON, NC.

    DECEMBER

    Automotive mfr. is planning to invest $922 million for a 1 million sf expansion and equipment upgrades on their manufacturing and warehouse facility in GEORGETOWN, KY. Completion is slated for 2027.
